Taiwan's TCI Gene-Tech is eyeing record annual revenue and a 2025 IPO filing as it triples production capacity and advances its global drug development pipeline.

What Happened

Operational Outlook and IPO Plans: TCI Gene-Tech expects record-breaking annual revenue this year, driven by strong overseas licensing and product shipments. General Manager Yen Lin-chuan announced plans to file for an OTC listing by the second quarter of next year, with a potential move to a main board listing depending on the progress of its drug pipeline.

Capacity Expansion and AI Integration: The company’s subsidiary, OPA Biotech, is investing NT$350 million to expand its facilities, aiming to triple its oral solid dosage production capacity by late 2027. Furthermore, TCI has designated 2026 as its 'AI Year,' integrating artificial intelligence across R&D, production, and sales to drive operational efficiency.

Global Expansion and Licensing: Leveraging its proprietary OROS controlled-release technology, TCI has successfully secured multiple licensing agreements across Asia and the Middle East. With international and licensing revenue expected to exceed 20% of total sales this year, the company anticipates that global product launches between 2027 and 2029 will serve as a primary growth engine.

Drug Development Pipeline: The company's long-acting injectable for schizophrenia, AX251, is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials under FDA approval, with licensing negotiations targeted for 2027. Additionally, the company has filed an ANDA with the US FDA for its pulmonary fibrosis drug NTN and expects to apply for Japanese regulatory approval in early 2027.
