Paper manufacturers Cheng Loong, YFY, and Long Chen are expanding overseas, with strong demand in Vietnam and China fueling a positive outlook for the second half.
What Happened
Cheng Loong Operations: Cheng Loong has successfully launched the third phase of its Binh Duong paper mill in Vietnam, boosting annual capacity to one million tons. The company is also planning a new facility in Northern Vietnam for 2027 to strengthen its regional supply chain.
YFY Performance: YFY’s paper packaging business in Vietnam is showing strong growth, with both sales volume and pricing exceeding last year's levels. The company expects the robust demand in the Vietnamese market to continue through the second half of the year.
Long Chen Strategy: Long Chen remains focused on the Chinese market, where industrial paper prices are recovering and supply discipline has improved. The company is cautiously optimistic about the traditional peak season in the second half, anticipating potential price increases.
Industry Outlook: By diversifying through overseas expansion and capacity upgrades, the three major paper manufacturers are mitigating regional risks. With demand recovering in Southeast Asia and China, the industry is well-positioned for improved profitability in the coming months.
