Semiconductor testing firm MA-tek reported record-breaking August revenue, driven by surging demand for high-end failure analysis from North American AI chip developers.
What Happened
Financial Performance: MA-tek reported August consolidated revenue of NT$565 million, marking a 0.38% monthly increase and a 17.78% year-on-year growth. This achievement marks the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking monthly revenue, with year-to-date revenue reaching NT$4.196 billion.
Growth Drivers: The company's performance is fueled by North American cloud service providers accelerating the development of custom AI chips. This trend has significantly increased the complexity of advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration, driving demand for high-end failure and reliability analysis.
Technical Capabilities: As AI chips evolve toward higher performance and bandwidth, clients are increasingly adopting CoWoS and EMIB packaging. MA-tek leverages advanced technologies such as 3D X-ray, FIB, and nano-probing to provide critical structural inspection and root cause analysis for its customers.
Global Expansion: The company has launched its first failure analysis laboratory in Hokkaido this September and is planning further expansion in Japan. Additionally, MA-tek aims to establish local failure and material analysis services in the U.S. by 2027 to capture the growing demand from AI research.
