Jinjiu plans to ramp up production with its new Yunlin plant by 2027 to meet the surging demand for high-end HVLP4 copper foil driven by AI applications.
What Happened
Operational Outlook: Jinjiu Chairman Li Si-hsien stated that the rise of AI technology is driving demand for advanced materials, specifically leading to a supply shortage of high-end HVLP4 copper foil. By optimizing its product mix and expanding capacity, the company aims to achieve record-breaking performance this year and targets double-digit growth for next year.
Expansion Plans: To meet future demand, Jinjiu's new Yunlin Plant No. 3 is scheduled to begin production in the first quarter of 2027. The company is also planning to issue convertible bonds to fund the construction, reflecting strong confidence in its long-term market prospects.
Overseas Strategy: Jinjiu recently announced a NT$1.4 billion capital injection into its Malaysian subsidiary, Co-Tech Development, to expand its overseas production footprint. This move is designed to diversify manufacturing risks and strengthen the company's supply capabilities in the global high-end copper foil market.
Market Demand: As AI servers and computing platforms increasingly require high-frequency, high-speed materials, HVLP4 copper foil is expected to remain in tight supply through 2027-2028. By proactively expanding capacity, Jinjiu is well-positioned to capitalize on this industry-wide upgrade.
