VI Asset Management Launches New Performance-Focused Target-Date Fund
Finance · Investment Managers · yonhap_finance · 2026-08-24
VI Asset Management has introduced a new target-date fund that invests in high-performing stocks and short-term bonds, shifting to liquid assets upon reaching its target return.
What Happened
Fund Strategy: VI Asset Management has launched the 'VI Performance Focus Target-Date Fund No. 2', a bond-mixed fund designed to invest in high-performing companies. The fund allocates less than 50% of its net assets to equities, with the remainder invested in high-quality government and monetary stabilization bonds.
Investment Portfolio: The equity portion focuses on leading companies across key sectors, including KOSPI blue chips and high-performing KOSDAQ stocks. To mitigate market volatility, the bond portfolio prioritizes short-to-medium-term instruments over long-term debt to ensure stable returns.
Conversion Mechanism: Once the fund reaches its target price of 1,060 KRW, it automatically shifts its investment strategy to focus on domestic short-term bonds, MMFs, and other liquid assets. This structure aims to lock in gains once the predetermined performance goal is met.
Subscription Details: This is a closed-end public fund, with the subscription period running until September 11 and the official launch set for September 14. Investors are offered flexibility as there are no redemption fees, allowing for withdrawals at any time.
