Delisted companies NPX and Arc Solutions will resume trading on the K-OTC market for up to six months to provide liquidity for investors.
What Happened
K-OTC Trading Resumption: NPX and Arc Solutions, which were recently delisted from the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets, are set to begin trading on the K-OTC market starting the 31st. The Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA) has designated both firms to the 'Delisted Enterprise Section' to provide a temporary window for liquidity.
Purpose of the Mechanism: This section was introduced this year to protect shareholders of delisted companies who previously faced difficulty trading shares after the standard liquidation period. By allowing trading for up to six months for companies meeting minimum requirements, the system aims to mitigate losses for retail investors.
Company Backgrounds: NPX specializes in manufacturing automated inspection equipment for semiconductor and PCB substrates, while Arc Solutions produces hygiene products such as wet wipes and adult diapers. Both companies successfully met the KOFIA's criteria regarding audit opinions and share distribution to qualify for this support.
Trading Mechanics: The reference price for the first day of trading will be the lower of the final closing price before delisting or the average closing price of the last three trading days, with a price fluctuation limit of ±30%. While the KOFIA may extend trading beyond six months if deemed appropriate, no company has yet successfully re-listed on the main exchanges through this path.
