China Steel Corporation has seen a 50% year-on-year increase in recycled steel sales as its low-carbon products gain traction in the automotive sector.

What Happened

Strong Sales Performance: China Steel Corporation (CSC) has achieved significant success in its recycled steel initiative, expanding applications into automotive sheet metal, EV motors, and structural components. Sales for the first eight months of the year reached 74,000 metric tons, a 50% increase compared to the previous year.

Technical Innovation: By optimizing material design and manufacturing processes, CSC has increased recycled content from RC12 to RC90. These products have received green product certification, helping downstream customers significantly reduce their carbon footprint.

Automotive Applications: CSC has successfully mass-produced RC30-grade IF steel for automotive panels, maintaining high formability and surface quality. Additionally, the company has developed RC30 electromagnetic steel coils for EV motors, ensuring high performance despite the increased use of recycled materials.

Structural Capabilities: The company’s high-strength RC60 structural steel is now being supplied consistently for high-value automotive applications. Through rigorous refining and process control, CSC ensures its recycled steel meets the strict strength and processing requirements of the automotive supply chain.
