What Happened
Technological Milestone: Tongbao Semiconductor has successfully developed post-quantum cryptography (PQC) control chips that have passed the highest level of NIST certification. These chips are now being integrated into projects for US-based clients to address critical data security and signal hijacking concerns in AI-enabled devices.
Market Expansion: The company is aggressively targeting the robotics and drone sectors, showcasing its "cerebellum control" chip architecture at SEMICON. By integrating PQC security directly into physical AI terminals, Tongbao is leveraging its end-to-end capabilities from chip design to system integration.
Financial Performance: Driven by strong sales volume and the acquisition of Singapore-based SinChip, Tongbao reported August revenue of NT$62.24 million, marking a 57.79% monthly increase and a 579.28% year-on-year surge. Total revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$422 million, up 128.52% compared to last year.
Future Outlook: With rising demand for high-integration, low-power, and quantum-resistant security solutions, the company's operations remain on a positive trajectory. Tongbao plans to file for an official IPO listing in the fourth quarter of this year.
