Ligitek is pivoting toward silicon photonics with its 1.6T modules, securing client certifications and targeting Q4 shipments to drive growth.
What Happened
Silicon Photonics Pivot: Ligitek is aggressively transforming its operations, with its 1.6T co-packaged optics (CPO) modules now integrated into the North American AI supply chain. Prototypes developed with the Industrial Technology Research Institute are set to debut in September, with small-batch shipments expected as early as Q4.
Market Demand and Certification: Driven by the global surge in demand for high-speed, low-power data center solutions, Ligitek's high-end silicon photonics line has become a core growth engine. Having secured European client certifications, the company expects production to ramp up significantly in Q1 of next year.
Business Restructuring: Ligitek has reorganized its SiP product lines, with AI and silicon photonics now accounting for 45% of total revenue. The company is also expanding into drone assembly and Remote ID systems, targeting both commercial and military contracts.
Stock Performance: Shares of Ligitek rose 17% this week to close at NT$65, supported by sustained foreign buying. The market has reacted positively to the company's strategic shift, reflected in both the price appreciation and increased trading volume.
