Makalot Industrial reported a 7.86% year-over-year increase in July revenue to nearly NT$3 billion, citing healthy client inventory levels and a positive outlook.
What Happened
Revenue Recovery: Makalot Industrial announced July revenue of NT$2.999 billion, a 7.86% year-over-year increase, reaching a four-month high. Cumulative revenue for the first seven months reached NT$20.062 billion, with the year-over-year decline narrowing to 1.63%, indicating a steady operational recovery.
Strong Order Visibility: The company noted that order visibility now extends into the fourth quarter, with bookings for November already underway. Driven by demand for sportswear related to the World Cup, as well as back-to-school and year-end holiday stocking, the second half of the year is expected to outperform the first.
Healthy Inventory: Makalot observed that global brand client inventory levels have returned to a healthy range, signaling an improvement in the apparel industry. While clients are adopting a more cautious, rolling-order strategy, the company's flexible production capabilities provide a competitive edge in handling short-lead and urgent orders.
Risk Management: Despite a cautiously optimistic outlook, the company remains wary of geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. Rising oil prices could trigger global inflation, potentially impacting consumer demand and client ordering behavior, which the company continues to monitor closely.
