Taiwanese brokerages Fubon Securities and KGI Securities are aggressively raising capital through bond issuances and syndicated loans to support business growth.

What Happened

Brokerage Fundraising Surge: Driven by the robust performance of the Taiwan stock market, major brokerages are seeing a spike in capital requirements. Fubon Securities and KGI Securities have both tapped the bond market significantly this year to bolster their financial structures and operational liquidity.

Fubon Securities Bond Issuance: Fubon Securities announced the issuance of two tranches of unsecured corporate bonds totaling 6.2 billion TWD. The proceeds are earmarked for strengthening the firm's capital adequacy ratio and supporting general working capital needs, with fixed interest rates set at 2.95% and 2.20% respectively.

KGI Securities Strategic Financing: KGI Securities has issued 3 billion TWD in 10-year bonds at a 3% interest rate, bringing its total annual bond issuance to 15.8 billion TWD. Furthermore, the firm successfully secured a 19.3 billion TWD syndicated loan from a banking group to support its medium-term operational turnover.

Enhancing Operational Resilience: KGI Securities noted that these capital-raising efforts will enhance its liquidity management flexibility and optimize its funding structure. The influx of capital is intended to support ongoing business expansion and international market development, thereby strengthening the firm's overall competitive position.
