Strategic Tech Collaboration: The National Development Council of Taiwan, led by Minister Yeh Chun-hsien, visited Japan to align Taiwan's 'New Ten AI Initiatives' with Japanese industry leaders. The mission focuses on quantum computing, AI data centers, and Physical AI to leverage existing supply chain synergies for future technological growth.
Quantum Computing Commercialization: The delegation toured the G-QuAT facility to study quantum applications in pharmaceuticals, materials, and meteorological forecasting. Both sides aim to establish a cross-border quantum ecosystem, integrating Japanese expertise with Taiwan's existing AI-driven weather modeling capabilities.
AI Infrastructure and Connectivity: During a visit to Fujitsu, the delegation examined all-optical network technologies designed to enhance AI data center resilience and transmission speeds. Minister Yeh noted that these advancements align with Taiwan's sovereign AI goals, paving the way for deeper cooperation in high-performance computing.
Addressing Societal Challenges: The visit to NEC highlighted the potential of Physical AI and robotics in disaster prevention and managing aging demographics. Both nations intend to deepen R&D ties to deploy AI solutions that address shared societal pain points and improve government efficiency.
