Fwusow Industry is calculating claims against Jung Li Oil following a food safety scandal and is upgrading its quality control systems to restore trust.

What Happened

Financial Impact: Fwusow Industry has been caught up in a food safety scandal involving Jung Li Oil, leading to approximately NT$210 million in losses recognized in the first half of the year. While some school meal returns continued into the third quarter, the company maintains that these losses were already strictly accounted for in previous financial reports.

Legal Action: The company is currently working with legal counsel to calculate the scope of damages to seek from Jung Li Oil, factoring in potential claims from its own downstream clients. Regarding lawsuits filed by other industry players like Taisun, Fwusow stated it would handle the matter through legal channels without commenting on specific cases.

Safety Overhaul: To rebuild consumer confidence, Fwusow has pledged to implement a comprehensive food safety risk prevention system. This includes upgrading management protocols from raw material sourcing and manufacturing processes to end-to-end product traceability.

Operational Outlook: Fwusow reported a net loss of NT$308 million for the first half of 2026, or NT$0.9 per share. The company is currently focused on navigating these legal challenges while strengthening internal controls to stabilize its long-term market position.
