Taiwan Index Plus has finalized the periodic rebalancing for seven major ETFs, including 00881 and 00733, with changes taking effect on October 20.

What Happened

Index Rebalancing: Taiwan Index Plus has announced the periodic review results for seven Taiwan-focused ETFs and index funds, with all changes becoming effective on October 20. The list includes major funds such as Cathay Taiwan Technology Leaders, Nomura Taiwan New Tech 50, and Fubon Taiwan Small-Mid Cap.

Significant Adjustments: The FT Taiwan Smart and Fubon Taiwan Small-Mid Cap ETFs saw the most substantial changes, with each replacing over 40 constituent stocks. Other funds, including Cathay Dividend Select 30 and Fuh Hwa Taiwan Elite 50, also underwent specific additions and deletions to align with their respective index methodologies.

Transition Periods: To mitigate market impact, the Fubon Taiwan Small-Mid Cap and Fuh Hwa Taiwan Elite 50 funds have implemented a five-day transition period. During this window, the weight adjustments resulting from the rebalancing will be phased in gradually to ensure orderly trading.

Market Outlook: Investors should monitor the liquidity and price movements of the affected constituent stocks following the rebalancing. Notably, the CTBC Taiwan Smart 50 ETF remained unchanged during this review cycle, requiring no adjustments to its current portfolio composition.
