St. Shine Optical reported record-breaking third-quarter earnings with an EPS of NT$6.32, driven by robust demand for silicone hydrogel lenses and expanded production capacity.
What Happened
Record Earnings: St. Shine Optical reported a strong third quarter with consolidated revenue of NT$1.453 billion and a record-high quarterly net profit of NT$398 million, resulting in an EPS of NT$6.32. For the first nine months of the year, the company achieved a cumulative EPS of NT$14.77, marking a new high for the period.
Growth Drivers: Profitability was bolstered by operational growth, a NT$37 million foreign exchange gain, and tax incentives from capacity expansion in Malaysia. Although marketing expenses rose due to the launch of a new product series in Taiwan, the company maintained a healthy quarterly gross margin of 46.67%.
Market Performance: Demand for silicone hydrogel color lenses in Asia remains robust, with Japan being a significant contributor, while the U.S. market saw the highest growth rate in the third quarter. Increased production capacity in Malaysia has allowed the company to fulfill previously backlogged orders for clear lenses from Western markets.
Outlook: The company expects Q4 revenue to surpass Q3, with monthly revenue potentially hitting new highs for the year. With production capacity set to reach 75 million units per month by Q1 next year and order visibility extending into early 2025, St. Shine remains optimistic about sustained growth from new and existing clients.
