Pegavision reported August revenue of NT$750 million, driven by strong demand in Japan and the scaling of its silicone hydrogel lens production.
What Happened
Revenue Growth: Pegavision reported August consolidated revenue of NT$750 million, an 18.8% increase year-on-year, marking its second-highest monthly revenue for two consecutive months. With a 22.5% year-to-date growth, the company is well-positioned to set a new quarterly revenue record in Q3.
Market Strategy: The company is prioritizing capacity allocation for the Japanese, European, and U.S. markets to maximize profitability. While demand in China is growing, intense price competition has led Pegavision to focus its resources on higher-margin silicone hydrogel and functional lens products in other regions.
Product Mix Optimization: Growth in the second half of the year is driven by the scaling of silicone hydrogel products, including daily disposables and multifocal lenses for the Japanese and European markets. The company expects silicone hydrogel products to account for 15% of total revenue by year-end, supporting a steady recovery in gross margins.
Capacity Expansion: Pegavision’s monthly production capacity has surpassed 100 million lenses. The company is currently focusing its expansion efforts on the Daxi plant to specialize in silicone hydrogel production, which will allow the Guishan plant to optimize its output and improve overall operational efficiency.
