SPC flooring manufacturer MeiJia-KY reported a net loss of NT$142 million for the first half of 2026, citing cautious inventory strategies by North American clients.
What Happened
Financial Performance: MeiJia-KY reported a consolidated revenue of NT$1.292 billion for the first half of 2026, marking a 24.84% year-on-year decline. The company swung to a net loss of NT$142 million, resulting in a loss per share of NT$1.79, a significant downturn from the profit recorded in the same period last year.
Key Challenges: The company attributed the poor performance to rising raw material costs driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which led North American clients to adopt conservative ordering and inventory strategies. Consequently, order volumes and production utilization rates failed to reach the levels seen in the previous year.
Market Recovery: Management noted that inventory levels among European and American clients have returned to reasonable ranges, with resilient demand for SPC flooring in the North American renovation market. Since the second quarter, there has been a gradual recovery in order intake and improved visibility for future shipments.
Strategic Outlook: Moving forward, the company plans to deepen client partnerships and expand its product portfolio, including lightweight SPC flooring currently in trial production for new North American customers. Additionally, the company is optimizing production processes at its Tainan plant to improve efficiency and cost competitiveness.
