Cleanaway Taiwan has successfully raised NT$2.517 billion through convertible bonds to fund its waste-to-energy BOT projects and expand its green energy footprint.
What Happened
Fundraising: Cleanaway Taiwan has successfully raised NT$2.517 billion through the issuance of five-year unsecured convertible bonds. The proceeds will be utilized to repay bank loans and finance the Kaohsiung South District Incinerator BOT project.
Project Development: In partnership with Taiwan Life, the company is building a new AI-powered incinerator, expected to be operational by 2028 with a 20-year concession. This project is projected to provide stable long-term revenue through electricity sales and operational management.
Operational Growth: The company reported a 23.88% year-on-year revenue increase for the first half of the year, driven by large-scale remediation projects. Future growth is expected from the 205 Arsenal remediation project, SRF power plants, and solar-fishery projects.
Strategic Vision: Cleanaway is transitioning from a traditional waste management firm into a high-value resource recycling and green energy provider. By executing these key projects, the company aims to establish a new engine for long-term sustainable growth.
