OptiWorks sees revenue soar 180% year-on-year in August and inks a four-year supply contract with a US client, with plans to expand capacity 2.5x by 2027.
What Happened
Revenue Growth: OptiWorks reported August revenue of NT$520 million, marking five consecutive months of doubled year-on-year growth. The company's strong performance is driven by robust demand for its CW laser products within the optical communications sector.
Long-term US Contract: The company has signed a four-year supply agreement with a US client, running from 2027 to 2030, to ensure the supply of CW laser products for data centers. This deal also secures the supply chain for critical Indium Phosphide (InP) substrates, providing long-term stability for production.
Capacity Expansion: Capitalizing on surging AI-related demand, OptiWorks is aggressively increasing capital expenditure, with plans to expand production capacity to 2.5 times current levels by next year. The company has already begun mass production of 1.6T products and is actively developing 3.2T solutions with clients.
Financial Outlook: With a 465% year-on-year increase in H1 net profit and an EPS of NT$7.75, analysts expect Q3 results to outperform Q2. Despite recent stock price volatility, foreign investors have continued to accumulate shares, reflecting confidence in the company's silicon photonics roadmap and growth trajectory.
